Building Wellness into Our Online Lives

In this networked age, all the clamor for our attention just keeps coming at us — yet we can learn to balance online life and work with being healthy, focused and able to get a good night’s sleep. Learning “digital wellness” is vital for CYC practitioners, and this virtual training offers practical measures you can use right now to improve your focus and reduce distraction.

We will begin by exploring some of the ways technology distracts us from the work we do. We’ll review the Digital Flourishing Wheel, created by the Digital Wellness Collective and explore approaches to improving your own digital wellness. These include shifting how you use and create your schedule, adopting a more mindful approach in your technology usage, and making adjustments to your physical space.

As you gain comfort and competence in using these approaches, you can teach them to the young people with whom you work!
Learning Objectives:
  • Expand awareness of the impact of digital technology on health and wellbeing
  • Learn how to use the Digital Flourishing Wheels
  • Learn physical space adaptations
  • Learn ways to shift how you create and use scheduling
  • Learn to use a more mindful approach to using technology.
