Morning and evening routines. Mealtimes. School days and holidays. Hanging out with friends. Playing sports. Taking a walk. Meeting with or missing loved ones. It's in these seemingly simple, everyday moments a young person’s life can open up significant opportunities for growth and making progress toward their goals.
This training series equips caring adults with an approach to provide proactive, effective support as these moments are occurring in the daily lives of young people
In this course participants learn how to recognize and use everyday moments as opportunities for growth and how to think more deeply about the process of providing support and nurturing quality interactions.
Who should participate?
Child and Youth Care practitioners, Educators, and other child serving professionals
Each week involves 1-hour of self-paced study and a 1-hour remote videoconference.
What participants are saying about this course:
"I really enjoy being able to complete the self-pace portion whenever it works best for me during the week."
"The discussion and group interaction during the live calls really helps me integrate what I’ve read and listened to in the weekly online modules."
"I love learning on my own – and also really enjoy the interaction in the weekly calls. It’s a perfect blend of what I need to learn best."
"I’m used to attending full day courses, but spreading it out over seven weeks really allows me to think about and practice what I’m learning. I really like that I can show up with questions at the live sessions."
"The topic is so central to working well with groups of young people. The class is already halfway done and I’m learning so much."
