Youth Development Specialist Duties: Ensure a safe and secure environment. Communicates pertinent information as it relates to youth and their therapeutic needs. Helps to develop healthy communication and problem-solving skills during times of high stress or anxiety. Helps with daily chores and daily living activities. Develops and maintains an appropriate and healthy relationship with youth. Responsible for teaching, modeling, practicing supporting, and articulating the appropriate behaviors for youth. Provide intervention in accordance with approved techniques Participates in all required agency training.
Youth Development Specialist Requirements: Must be at least 21 years of age upon hire. At minimum, must have High School Diploma, GED, or HSED Pass a caregiver/criminal background check. Staff who work with youth with substance use problems must be free of chemical use problems for the previous two years. Must have documentation to support that you are legally authorized to work in the US (I-9 to be filed upon hire).
Salary and Benefits:
$17-$20 hourly (Supervisors $19-$21 hourly) $1,000.00 sign-on bonus for full-time employees after six months of successful employment. A tuition reimbursement program of up to $2250 per semester is paid directly to the student for working a minimum of 24 hours a week.
